The Exchange Visitor Program (EVP) is designed to bring scholars, researchers, professors and specialists to the United States for educational and cultural exchange purposes.  The goal of the EVP is to increase mutual understanding between people from the United States and other countries.

Our staff at the Center for Global Education is here to support Boise State University’s scholar community, including host departments. We can help with any questions you have about adjustment to life in the United States.  Additionally, we are your resource on immigration matters.

We welcome scholars from all over the world to enhance their learning and research through short-term, collaborative activities our university.  The typical visa for this activity is the J-1 visa. In most cases, scholars must be supported by a specific academic department.  Therefore, you should first contact the academic department in your field of interest to discuss collaborative opportunities.  You can learn more about our academic departments, including areas of teaching and research, by accessing department websites.  A full list of Boise State University academic departments can be found here.
