Intensive English Program – Application and Admissions

IEP ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be older 16 years of age or older;
  • You must have a basic understanding of the English language;
  • You must complete the on-line application;
  • You must provide proof of financial resources to meet your educational and living expenses during your studies at Boise State.

If you would like to study as a full-time student in the Intensive English Program, you will need a student visa. After you submit your application form, documents, and payment, your application will be reviewed. Once you are accepted, the IEP will send your I-20 and other essential program information.

A. For Online Applications

  1. Complete the Application Form (International Students).
    • Please note you will be required to upload a copy of your passport and your financial document. Please have these documents ready to submit before you start to complete the online application.
  2. Pay the $125 Non-Refundable Application Fee.

B. For Paper Applications

  1. Print and complete the Paper Application Form (International Students).
  2. Collect the following documents:
    • Official Financial Support Statement from your bank, sponsor, or guardian certifying that you have sufficient funds available for your studies at Boise State University
    • Passport Copy of the identity page of your passport, showing your photo and full name
    • Enclose $125 application fee in check or money order.
  3. Mail your completed application, required documents, and application fee to our mailing address:

We need to receive your application materials in time to issue you an I-20 visa form.

Remember: It can take several weeks to receive your student visa!

I am an international student working with an agent: F-1 Student Visa Holder/Transfer Student Application Process

Use this application if you are working with an agent. If you would like to study as a full-time student in the Intensive English Program, you will need a student visa. I am an Idaho resident: Resident, Green Card Holders and Naturalized Citizens Application Process

If you are a resident of Idaho with proof of residency, you qualify for the resident tuition rate. This includes permanent residents, green card holders, and naturalized citizens. Please contact our office if you have any questions about qualifying for resident status in our program.

A. For Online Applications

  1. Complete the Resident Application Form.
    • Please note you will need to upload a copy of your proof of residency. Please have this document ready before you start the online application.
  2. Pay the $50 Non-Refundable Application Fee.

B. For Paper Applications

  1. Print and complete the Resident Application Form.
  2. Collect the following documents:
    • Proof of residency
    • Enclose $50 application fee in check or money order.
  3. Mail your completed application, proof of residency, and application fee to our mailing address:

If you are currently in the US and would like to study, you are eligible to apply in this category. Please contact our office at iepinfo@boisestate.edu to learn about your study options. Part-time study is often available for students holding alternative visa types.

A. For Online Applications

  1. Complete the Application Form (Non F-1 visa students).
    • Please note you will be required to upload a copy of your passport and your financial document. Please have these documents ready to submit before you start to complete the online application.
  2. Pay the Non-F1 $50 Non-Refundable Application Fee.

B. For Paper Applications

  1. Print and complete the Paper Application Form (Non F-1 visa students).
  2. Collect the following documents:
    • Official Financial Support Statement from your bank, sponsor, or guardian certifying that you have sufficient funds available for your studies at Boise State University
